Welcome!

My pottery journey began in 2018, during a rough patch in my life. I took my first class at PotLA, learned the basics and made the commitment to keep going.

Shortly after my first class I got an old, noisy, SUPER heavy shimpo wheel. Eventually that wheel made it's way in to the garden and for the first time in a while life felt beautiful again. Pottery and nature became my therapists and truly helped me heal. I could see and smell the garden, feel the messy wet clay and hear the sound of my old rusty wheel. To me, there was nothing better than that!

Pottery has taught to me to let go of outcomes and embrace uncertainty. Most of my favorite pieces were the ones I didn't plan.

I upgraded my wheel eventually, which lead to more consistent results but still miss that old wheel sometimes :) I'm always trying new clays, shapes and glazes. So when I say they're one of a kind, it's true!
